You can use XML Marker v1.1, its an excellent app and still free, I also use it all the time but if I have Dreamweaver then thats the app to rule them all..

Sorry but this is not a tutorial for editing XML files, it'll only point you to the app that will let you edit XBMC/Kodi's XML files with ease, no more errors anymore.
